1 Who We Are

CartPulse ("we", "us", "our") is a Shopify application that helps e-commerce merchants recover abandoned shopping carts through automated multi-channel notifications, including browser push notifications and email reminders.

This Privacy Policy explains how CartPulse collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you install and use the CartPulse app on your Shopify store, and when your customers interact with CartPulse's notification features.

For questions about this policy, contact us at apps.kaswebtech@gmail.com.

2 Information We Collect

We collect different types of information depending on whether you are a merchant (Shopify store owner) or an end customer (shopper at a merchant's store).

We collect customer data only through Shopify's checkout webhooks and only for customers who have entered their email address during checkout at a merchant's store. We do not use cookies, trackers, or third-party pixel technologies for ad targeting.

3 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

We do not use customer data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than cart recovery for the specific merchant whose store triggered the event.

4 Information Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We share data only with the following service providers who help us operate CartPulse:

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights, property, or the safety of our users.

5 Data Retention

We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the CartPulse service:

When a merchant uninstalls CartPulse, we receive a webhook notification from Shopify and automatically delete all associated session and store data from our systems within 48 hours.

6 Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data we hold, including:

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7 Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at apps.kaswebtech@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Merchants: You can delete all your data and disconnect CartPulse by uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin. This triggers automatic deletion of all associated data.

8 Shopify Merchants

By installing CartPulse, you grant us the Shopify API scopes listed in our app listing (read_orders, read_checkouts, write_script_tags). We access your store's data only to the extent necessary to provide the cart recovery service.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of CartPulse complies with applicable privacy laws in your jurisdiction and with Shopify's Partner Programme Agreement. If your store has customers in the EU or UK, you must ensure your store's privacy policy discloses that you use a third-party cart recovery service (CartPulse) that may process customer checkout data.

9 End Customers of Merchants

If you are a shopper at a Shopify store that uses CartPulse and you have received a cart recovery notification, your data was processed because you began a checkout on that merchant's store.

To opt out of push notifications: You can disable push notifications for any website through your browser settings (Settings → Notifications → Site Permissions).

To opt out of email reminders: Contact the merchant whose store you were shopping at, or reply to the recovery email requesting removal.

To request deletion of your data: Contact us at apps.kaswebtech@gmail.com with the store domain and your email address. We will delete your cart records within 30 days.

10 Children's Privacy

CartPulse is intended for use by Shopify merchants operating legitimate e-commerce businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of CartPulse after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with the changes, you may uninstall the app from your Shopify admin.
